Testimonials

Prohab helped me resolve a longstanding physical issue.  While it did not stop me from doing the things I Iove, it was constantly present and would often leave me in spasm if I did too much. It certainly made my work more difficult.
The holistic approach to resolving this was the key.  Addressing the physical element together its relationship with stress, essentially re-designing how my brain processed it, allowed for a sustainable healing and recovery process.  Prohab also spent the time to ensure I had the tools to continually develop my physical resilience.  My back is incredible.

The bar was high, Prohab was recommended to me by an extreme sports enthusiast and great friend who has travelled the world and said Carlyle is by far the best chiro he has met.  And did he deliver?  My neck had been given me significant problems for a good 2 years and both traditional medicine and physio have only given a short term effect. Prohab’s style of treatment was a completely new way of working for me, looking at the core of the problem from a mental and physical angle, meant I reappraised my posture, thinking and attitude to stress.  After 12 treatments, of complete revelation and enjoying every minute of the sessions, my neck is completely better, my posture is a million times improved and I feel so much more in charge of life.
So would I recommend Prohab as my friend did to me?
The answer, a complete and resounding yes all the way.

Having trawled Harley St in search of a cure for back pain, I eventually ended up at Prohab. I’d been competing in rowing but was in fairly constant pain. I found it difficult to drive, sit for long periods or sleep. Six months later, through working with Prohab, I was able to complete the Etape du tour (Stage of the Tour de France) without pain and have now gone back to rowing training trouble free.
The Prohab approach was very different to any other specialist I had seen, considering the psychological impact of an injury as well as the purely physical. I particularly enjoyed Prohab’s attitude towards sport, that it was not something that should be outlawed until completely recovered but an intrinsic part of recovery.

After two spinal surgeries my consultant said I would never run, let alone play football again.  I was 27 yrs old.  With Prohab’s help I am now back playing 90 minutes of football competitively.  The holistic approach Prohab uses was the key to that.  I thoroughly recommend anyone who has been told ‘that’s all we can do, you will have to live it’  to have a Prohab assessment.

Carlyle is well-known by other practitioners and therapists for his ability to get results and was highly regarded by my own physiotherapist who agreed that his way of working could really compliment the physiotherapy that I was already having.
Following several knee surgeries that were threatening to be unsuccessful, I was faced with the potential of not being able to run or climb again and Carlyle’s creative style and approach helped me overcome whatever problems my body was having in healing itself and made the physiotherapy more effective.  Carlyle worked on the way communication occurred within my body and the underlying, unconscious side-effects of chronic pain which were stopping me achieving my goals.  Within only a few sessions, the way my whole body moved started to improve and previous behavioural patterns changed so that I started overcoming the issues I had been facing for such a long time.
Carlyle works in a uniquely holistic way that cannot be simply categorised because he uses a blend of his wide range of skills, therapies and approaches, matching them to the needs of the individual.  As a psychologist, I was fascinated by his techniques and the way he found the root of problems I could never have found or been aware of myself and I was amazed at how quickly I saw results.  I am now looking forward to achieving some pretty ambitious goals that were looking nearly impossible such a short time ago.

I began training for the London Marathon 2006, having been forced to withdraw from the London Marathon 2005 through hip and knee injuries sustained from the high mileage. As the mileage increased in 2006, my body once again began to show the strains that would prevent me from competing. I was becoming concerned and upset at the prospect of missing the marathon for a second year running. However, during a custom insole fitting at Profeet, I was recommended to contact Dr Carlyle Jenkins begin_of_the_skype_highlighting     end_of_the_skype_highlighting as someone who could perhaps help get me through the marathon. I took their advice and now I’m so glad that I did.

Within one session, Carlyle had shown me a connection between the body’s physiology and mind’s influence over it that I never before believed existed. Also, within that first session, he was able to show me how this could make a huge difference to my ability to compete in the marathon. I really was amazed. So I had a few more sessions before the marathon. During these sessions, Carlyle used his unique understanding of all aspects of the body and his unique capability to apply this understanding to not only get my body into condition to run the marathon, but also to lay down a time (3h 40m) that I didn’t think I would be capable of, just one year ago.
I would thoroughly recommend Carlyle’s approach to anybody.

I have seen numerous therapists and specialists regarding my shin splints. I was at first sceptical about Carlyle’s technique and approach but he took the time to explain what he was doing and why. Carlyle’s touch is light and his technique so quick it is almost impossible to believe it will work. Three sessions and my shin splints were no longer an issue. Truly amazing.
