Emma - 7th in European Xterra Championship Race

June 03rd 2010

The European Xterra Champs enters its fourth year in the protected area of Biderosa, and consists of a 1.5-kilometer swim, 32km mountain bike and 10km trail run.  The two-lap bike course features long slopes and single track that requires solid technical skills, and shows off athletic abilities.

The start list included 43 pros representing 14 countries, including reigning European Tour champions Franky Batelier and Renata Bucher, Olympians Olivier Marceau and Sibylle Matter, and XTERRA World Champions Nico Lebrun and Melanie McQuaid.

Emma reports;

“I got trampled on in the swim by the age groupers but got through it and came out the water closer to Renata Bucher than I’ve ever done, the bike was steep, rocky & sandy and super fun and the run was flat but 60% on the beach so pure pain – finished strong and gave it everything so I was happy!”

We look forward to Emma’s next update.
